Other Mobile Offshore Unit
Other mobile offshore unit is a MOU which may be involved in any single offshore activity or combination of offshore activities such as:
- construction;
- maintenance (including the maintenance of wells);
- lifting operations;
- pipe-laying and related operations;
- emergency/contingency preparedness, including firefighting;
- production systems;
- accommodations;
- storage systems; and
- diving.
MOUs do not include vessels such as:
- supply vessels;
- standby vessels;
- anchor-handling vessels;
- seismic vessels;
- ship-shape mono hull diving support vessels; and
- special purpose ships.
