Hydrostatic Test

Test performed by filling a length of OCTG with water and pressurizing it in order to verify its ability to withstand a specified pressure without leaking or rupturing. NOTE A hydrostatic test is generally considered a method to verify the structural integrity of the pipe but not the threaded connection.
