Mechanical property of a component, a cross-section, or a member of the structure, e.g. bending resistance, local buckling resistance.

Resistance

Capacity of a structure, a component or a cross-section of a component to withstand action effects without exceeding a limit state. NOTE This definition is at variance with that specified in ISO 19900:2002.
